Reviews
A lovely mix of produce, takeaway food, pastries and goods. π for an approximate listing of the stalls.
I like this market because of the mix. It's got something for everyone, from buying a giant box of raw olives to cure yourself to just coming and having a latte and a croissant.
π₯π₯π₯ The Orange Grove market is perhaps most famous for the vendor selling bacon and egg rolls for $10. Apparently they're really good, but the queue is epic, so I haven't partaken.
π As this is at a primary school, there's a kid's playground and a bouncy castle brought in for the market. There's also grass to picnic with items you've purchased.
π₯π At least 5 large stalls with a large selection of produce
ππ A couple of vendors selling meats
π₯π₯ A few vendors with breads and pastries
βπ§ One coffee vendor (could do with another judging by the length of the queue) and fresh juices
π΄ There's a descent selection of takeaway foods and pre-packed foods for easy dinners during the week: Indian, gozleme, Middle Eastern and more
π±π΅ Plants are trending. At least 3 vendors selling succulents and indoor plants.
πͺ There's even a knife sharpening guy!
ππ―οΈPlus vendors selling clothes, jewelry, candles and other misc, but in a way that isn't distracting or taking away from the food-centric vibe.
π Parking is a nightmare. No lot, just street parking which is a challenge. Expect to drive in a few circles.
π Closest light rail is Lilyfield, which isn't really at a practical distance if you're carrying groceries.
π«πΆ No dogs allowed inside. There's a heap of them tied to the fence.
Saturday morning market
Went there for brekkie and got bacon and egg roll.
Freshly made with juice and vittoria coffee.
Great music onsite and have a chance to support local.
Ended up get dolmades, baklava and cauliflower dip to take home. Delicious.
Decent market at this school ground. They manage to pack a lot of stalls into this space. Great variety of fresh produce and food stalls. We had the famous bacon and egg roll from Bowen which set us back $10. It was tasty but I think the hype was too much given it is a bacon and egg roll. Gozleme was delicious and dosa was full of flavour. Weβve tried the pho at the branch in kingβs cross market but not here but it looks legit.
Enjoyed a couple of Irish scones - chrissie cranberry one was great.
Market had plenty space and grass for adults and kids alike out the back with a mini playground as well.
Great market, good for all. Including the kids lol with a good smattering of stalls food, bits & pieces & clothes. I had a lovely time..
I am a regular at these markets every Saturday and I have to say I love them!
They have such a great variety of fruits and vegetables along with flowers and homemade food stalls that you just want to try everything!
Most stalls are cash only so remember to bring some cash but if you forget thereβs a man who brings a moving ATM in a van thing!
The bacon and egg rolls are to die for but they wonβt tell me where they get their bacon from :( boo
One of Sydney's best farmers markets open almost every Saturday morning of the year. A huge range of interesting food, craft, clothing, florists and gardening stores. Stall staff are always friendly and there are usually small samples made available to try new things. Like any fresh produce market getting there early will see you choose the best produce and avoid the mid-morning crowds. My two picks are the Gozleme stall and the Pepe Sayer butter stall!
Best farmers market in Sydney that has an excellent range of food stalls like dosa and the best chai you'll ever taste, pho, B&E rolls, corn fritters, GF baked goods, gozleme, dumplings etc.
